Lehto showed off a rough cinematic from Halo 2 while it was still under development. The video is, obviously, unpolished. The Halo ring itself is shown as just an image on white backdrop at one point, and the entire video is missing textures, sound effects, and most of what it takes to be a refined video game cinematic. However, it is entertaining to see the difference between the rough and finished products, especially when compared to the cinematics of the Halo 2 remaster in the Master Chief Collection....

Aaron Greenberg, the Xbox marketing general manager, spoke on the Halo Infinite issue in an interview with Inside Gaming. The interviewer, ex-IGN journalist Alanah Pearce, has previously revealed that a source told her that the event gameplay video is an “early build” and that Halo Infinite is still very much a work-in-progress. Halo Infinite’s player count peak was an impressive 256,619 back when it launched in November 2021. However, in the last 30 days, Halo Infinite has been unable to reach an average Steam player count of 6,000. One of the reasons that this is particularly interesting is because EA allegedly blamed Battlefield 2042’s poor performance on Halo Infinite releasing at a similar time and it being a more polished game. A video of 343 Industries capturing audio from Xbox hardware has been circulating Twitter, with developers using the electromagnetic fields emitting from consoles as a source for sound effects. Those sounds will likely be used to create weapon blasts, vehicle sounds, and more as players blast their way through Halo Infinite’s campaign. The delay of Halloween Kills, a follow-up to the 2018 reboot of the popular slasher franchise, was announced by composer John Carpenter in a joint statement with director David Gordon Green on Twitter today. It will open in October 2021 now, with Halloween Ends coming in 2022. Universal has also delayed The Forever Purge and Jordan Peele’s Candyman remake to July 9, 2021 and October 16, 2020.
