The odds are not in the favor of the Pirates putting the first L in Kentucky’s loss column. A 16 seed has never defeated a No. 1 seed in the history of the NCAA Tournament. Hampton’s coach, Edward Joyner Jr., realizes this.
When he was asked about possibly facing the No. 1 team in the country, he came up with a funny response.
He also commented on his team’s chances of winning the entire tournament.
Hampton faces Manhattan Tuesday at 6:40 p.m. ET in Dayton, Ohio.
