Four members of Halo Infinite’s voice cast were revealed in a blog post from 343 Industries on the Halo Waypoint community hub, two of which are (mostly) new to the Halo universe. First, there’s Nicolas Roye, an industry veteran who has some Halo experience, doing additional voices in Halo 4, but recently he’s voiced Octane in Apex Legends. Second is War Chief Escharum, the Banished leader in Halo Infinite’s recent trailer, voiced by Darin De Paul. Gamers will recognize De Paul from his work as Reinhardt in Overwatch.

The other two names are going to be familiar to Halo fans, though one, in particular, is more interesting than the other. First is Steve Downes, an absolute legend in the Halo franchise. Downes voices none other than Master Chief himself. And judging from the latest Halo Infinite trailers, Downes is doing some of the best work of his career.

The second voice is Halo’s equally important voice throughout the past 5 major games in the franchise, Jen Taylor, who voices both Dr. Catherine Elizabeth Halsey and Master Chief’s partner in crime Cortana. Neither character has made an appearance yet in Halo Infinite’s early advertising, so her confirmation is certain to stir some speculation about how she’ll fit into the story going forward.

A list of four voice actors is obviously just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to Halo Infinite’s voice cast. 343 Industries has described Halo Infinite’s campaign as the size of both Halo 4 and Halo 5 combined and the game is set to be supported with content years into the future. And it’s also positioned as the Forerunner Saga’s ending as well as the start of the next. When the full list is available, it may be the longest for a Halo game ever.

As for when Halo fans can expect to hear more about Halo Infinite, Phil Spencer teased that some more information could be coming in August. Plans can always change, but with just a few months left before launch, there’s guaranteed to be more Halo Infinite advertising than even fans will like. The Xbox Series X is coming and Halo Infinite is its vanguard.
