Season 1 placed a focus on Halo: Reach, letting players progress through the battle pass to unlock the unique armor of characters like Emile or Kat as well as other Reach-centric awards. Better yet, unlocking the full Battle Pass means that it’ll always be available for Halo Infinite players even once Season 1 ends. In fact, the end is actually near as 343 Industries has started to tease the upcoming changes in Season 2 over the past week or so.

However, today, the company has made it official by releasing the first trailer for Season 2: Lone Wolves ahead of the May 3 launch. Although the trailer itself is incredibly short, clocking in under 30 seconds, players can get a quick look at some of the upcoming content including new maps. One of which features a good amount of lava where a leaser seemingly cuts through the middle increasing the risk for players to cross over either on foot or using a vehicle like a Warthog.
The brief Halo: Infinite trailer also seems to show off a few new elements including a cinematic cutscene that will likely play at the start of the season. 343 Industries admitted that it intends to increase the level of storytelling through seasonal updates, and it appears that Lone Wolves will really kick off that effort. The short clip showed what appears to be a Covenant drop ship landing at a Marine base, only for two Spartan soldiers to descend instead.
While Season 1 certainly lacked any sort of narrative components, players should expect an increased effort starting with season 2 with events, cinematics, and items that better revolve around story based components. The biggest piece in Season 2 appears to be with the Spartan warriors briefly shown in the trailer, these Lone Wolf Spartans. Recent promotional materials revealed two of these specialists in Spartan Sigrid Eklund and Spartan Hieu Dinh, who look to feature prominently alongside the returning Spartan Commander Laurette Agryna.
Halo Infinite is available now on PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
