While Halo Infinite multiplayer has been int he spotlight plenty these past few months, Microsoft has begun to show off the game’s campaign more and more. Just two weeks ago, a new trailer for Halo Infinite revealed a ton of new features which includes larger and more open areas with optional objectives to complete. The game’s visuals have also seen an improvement, a point which was driven home by the Xbox account was quick to point out comparing the classic Craig meme to the updated look of the Halo: Infinite Brutes.

Following on the heels of that lengthy trailer, even more Halo Infinite campaign footage has arrived earlier this week and as expected, fans have been dissecting the content within. Over on Reddit, one user named DahlingDotMP3 noticed an interesting detail with the game’s Elite enemies. Essentially, when entering combat, these fearsome enemies will activate an overshield. The four second clip shows Master Chief taking out a nearby enemy which alerts the patrolling Elite who flashes on his overshield.

Most agree that this is a neat little detail, with more than a few also realizing that stealth tactics could be more important than ever before. Players who are able to sneak up on Elites may have an opportunity to take them out before an overshield can even be activated. These ambush tactics will no doubt prove important, especially in the new open enviornments of Halo Infinite, giving players a chance to prioritize certain enemies over others.

One Elite that likely won’t be a push over is Jega ‘Rdomnai, a character first introduced a few weeks ago by 343 Industries. Called the “Spartan Killer,” this Elite features glowing red energy swords and will likely be hunting the player at various points in the campaign. As the right hand to the Banished leader Atriox, 343 has designed Jega to be the “creepiest, most disturbing character that’s been in Halo” complete with dark colored armor, harsh sounding voice, and overall sinister style and tone. Adding a rival for Master Chief isn’t anything new for the franchise, though it’ll be interesting to see just how far 343 Industries pushes this new character.

Halo Infinite will be available on December 8 for PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
