In fact, we will be seeing the first official gameplay from the campaign mode, making this the first piece of in-game footage we’ve seen since the game’s reveal at E3 2018. So far, fans have only had pre-rendered trailers to obsess over, as well as a few teasers from Microsoft and developer 343 Industries.

One such teaser, despite only being a short video of a transmission of some sort that seems to have confirmed that Halo Wars 2’s antagonist, The Banished, will be returning in Halo Infinite.

More recently, a teaser video posted on Instagram appears to have confirmed another character for Halo Infinite. Or at the very least, confirms that they’re still alive. At a first glance, the video doesn’t reveal anything but one fan on Reddit took a much closer look at the brief flashes of text, which seem to be about Master Chief’s suit.

According to this, the suit was last modified by one C. Halsey. No doubt this is meant to be Dr. Catherine Halsey, the original creator of the Spartan 2 Program, which Master Chief was a part of, and the Mjolnir armor worn by Chief and other members of the program.

It even explicitly mentions a date: 9.9.2561. For anyone who doesn’t understand the significance, this is three years after the events of Halo 5: Guardians, which Halsey did appear in. So we know that she’s still alive, at least prior to the events of Infinite.

It’s also been pointed out that Chief’s new armor is visually different to what he wore in Halo 4 and 5. In fact, it closer resembles his armor from the original games. This even extends to the now-revealed box art, which quite clearly is meant to emulate the box art for the first game.

Fans have also spotted what looks like a grappling hook of some kind on Chief’s arm, which could indicate a new gameplay feature, and possibly an enemy Brute in Chief’s visor.

Halo Infinite will release this year for PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
