343 Industries has been actively working on the title post-release, and made some recent large scale adjustments to campaign difficulty for both single player and co-op playthroughs. The sixth free downloadable content pack, entitled Memories of the Reach, is also approaching release. Instead of relying on DLC packs to supplement its full-game sales, 343 Industries has been releasing all of the extra content packages for free, relying instead on microtransactions for residual income.

We stated that Halo 5 was a true step forward for the franchise, and fans interested in the game will have never seen a better opportunity to pick up the title for a lower price. The Halo series has been a longstanding staple for Microsoft consoles, and the online scene for the game is certainly still active thanks for a large variety of maps, game modes, and gamers eager to get those sweet, sweet co-op mode achievements.

With all of the above, and the fact that 343 Industries is actively teasing the fan-favorite infection mode, those who aren’t waiting for the title to find its way to the actual bargain bin can probably take a bite at the $30 price point without regrets. For everyone else, the game is great and it isn’t going anywhere – though the online Quidditch community may be gone by the time the game drops in price again.

The game is an Xbox One exclusive, with Xbox Head Phil Spencer having confirmed that the title wasn’t being considered for a PC release, having been built from the ground up as a console-only title.
