Luckily, a new video series from Xbox has fans covered, as it quickly reminds everyone of the events of the first four numbered games in the series, retelling the stories in a mere 117 seconds. These videos can be found at the Halo: Past, Present, and Future playlist.
The latest video in the series is available now, and it recaps the events of Halo 4. See Halo 4 recapped in a quick 117 seconds right here, courtesy of AceyBongos and Xbox:

These videos are a nice gesture from Xbox, as it allows fans that have already played through the series to relearn the important details in the plot of the franchise before Halo 5’s launch. The videos can also be helpful to players that are new to the franchise that don’t want to play the previous games in the series, and would rather just jump into the mix with Halo 5.
In any case, those that would rather just play through the games again have no shortage of options to do so. There’s the Master Chief Collection, of course, which allows players to play through the first four games in the series. People that were around for its troubling online issues also have the benefit of enjoying Halo 3: ODST as an add-on to that collection.
Speaking of ODST, the Halo recap video series from Xbox curiously omits the events of that game as well as Halo: Reach. Reach somewhat makes sense, as the game is not even included in part of the Master Chief Collection and is a prequel to Master Chief’s saga, but ODST is actually relevant to the plot of Halo 5.
As was revealed in the E3 2015 trailer, one of the characters on the side of Spartan Locke will be Buck. Buck made his debut in ODST and was central to that game’s plot, so one would imagine that Xbox would also create a quick recap of the events of that game as well, especially considering Buck’s role in Fireteam Osiris.
Will you be picking up Halo 5 on day one? Are you using these videos to refresh your memory, or are you replaying the saga from the beginning?
Halo 5: Guardians will launch on October 27th, exclusively for the Xbox One.
